I just came back from watching The Salt of the Earth and it was stunning, really really stunning. It changes everything as some would say and it gave me the idea to share my favorite movies concerning photography in general in no specific order. Also, if I forgot any, do give me your favorite ones!
The life and work of Sebastiao Salgado. Tragedy, hope, beauty and despair. I had goosebumps for the entire duration of the movie. It took me 8 months to see it and it changed my life.
I'm not sure if I'll ever cover conflicts and war but the movie (and the book that I nee d to read) shows a very realistic and personal point of view. A true story of tragic days and events but oh how do these guys look cool all the way. If one day, I look half as cool as them and I win half as many Pulitzer as them, I'll be a happy photographer.
Documentary about the mystery behind one of the greatest and least known street photographer of our times. Watch it.
4. A thousand times goodnight
Realistic description of the life of a conflict photographer when at home. I do not know why but it makes me want to try conflict photography. Not sure if it's a good thing.
5. City of God
If you have seen it, you know why I put it in the list, if you haven't well you know what you have to do.
6. The secret life of Walter Mitty
It's more a travel movie than a movie about photography but in any case, it makes me want to do both so I put it here AND I will put it in my top 7 travel movie as well.
Now I really need and want to see more. Please, do give me your recommendations and favorite ones!
