We see them leaving their homes, their loved ones, their lives behind bringing with them nothing more than their loved ones and their existences in search of new lives, in search of security. We see the tears, the struggles, the deaths, the resistance, the misery, the rejection, the difficulties. We see the harshest and ugliest that our species can be. Let’s see, everyone, what happens with this issue, this problem, this economic difficulty and social unrest. We’ve seen it already, this high number of problems coming in Europe.
Forget about the numbers, the issues, the troubles, the economic complications and if you would open your eyes you would notice their eyes. Because they have eyes like you do and you know why? Simply because they are not numbers or troublemakers or statistics, they are people. Humans. Yes they made the choice to be there but their options was dying or living. Can you blame them? What would you have done? Would you have accepted to die just in case you would cause some economic or social unrest in another country?
They are not a crisis, they are persons, each and every one of them a human being with a story. I want to show these human beings. As in every situation, everything is not only black. I want to show the other side of the story, of their story so you will see them as equal human beings and not only a crisis to solve.
This is why I will be leaving soon for Europe where I will try to show with my cameras a different side of the story in my own way; through the eyes and most probably smiles of these people.
Resilience is everywhere, especially in the hardest times.
If you agree with me and my ideas and want to help, I will indeed need the support of many. Reading, sharing, liking and commenting goes a long way in the heart of the photographer, knowing my work is seen and commented, knowing I’m doing it for something. I will also appreciate any support of contacts of local NGOs or if you have any particular information concerning the crisis. Have a couch to spare somewhere in Europe where I’ll be working? That would be great!
Thanks in advance and I’ll do everything I can to capture and show the human side of the story.
